Psalms 121

1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from?2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.3 He will not let your foot slip, he who watches over you will not slumber;4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.5 The Lord watches over you, the Lord is your shade at your right hand;6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.7 The Lord will keep you from all harm, he will watch over your life;8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going; both now and forevermore.
I can only imagine David's thoughts while penning this psalm. Our firm foundation is the God who ordains our every step, and he has a perfect plan in our lives. Not just for our lives, or with our lives...He works daily, constantly, in our lives!
Our strong tower in time of need, our help in time of trouble, our shield in time of attack, and the one who lifts a banner over us when the enemy comes in like a flood!
He is the one on the throne; he controls all, he is Faithful, and unchanging. He made the hills, the sky, the mountains, and everything in them! And he stands on that hill, a beacon in times of darkness and uncertainty, a watcher who sees the enemy come from afar, and changes that evil design to one of blessing.
That is the God we serve! He is so faithful and true! How can we not serve him, trust him, and give our utmost for his highest?!?
