Great devotions this last week!!
We had a great time this last week, with a great team visiting Casa de Fe. The SALTS foundation brought a team of students from Concordia College in Minnesota, as well as several other people from Texas and California. It was a great team, and they did quite a bit of work around Casa de Fe, including a lot of work getting the fish pound ready...hopefully in the next week or so we will be able to fill it with trout!!
The highlights though, for both us and the team, was the time spent with the children...We had great times playing with the kids, spending time at the pool, doing crafts with them, and even sharing in the Sunday Service at Casa de Fe.
Sunday afternoon we had a great service, looking at the decisions in our life, and how we need to have something to live for, a base in which to make our decisions.
As part of the service, we all chose a plastic Easter egg, with something to eat inside. When it came time to eat them, there was anything from apple, to sugar, to baking powder, and even some oregano! We all had some great laughs over what everyone else had to eat! It was also a great application for our lives, as young people every decision we make affects our life, whether it be good or bad we than have to deal with the consequences. But how great it is to know that we have a loving Father who picks us up when we fail, and sets us on the right track again!
We also had great devotionals at the start of each day as well, with the teams and the maestros at Casa de Fe. Two highlights of those would probably be Thursday and Friday.
Thursday morning we looked at Gods provision in our life, and how he always has a plan for us, even when we may not understand it at that time in our life. This song was was a blessing for us during the devotional. On Friday, Hernan, the head maestro, shared. I am working a bit with this great christian man, teaching him, and having him lead out in some devotions, and what he shared was a blessing for all of us as well.
We are working very hard on putting together a better schedule to have more time with the kids, and although it is still in process, we are seeing results!! Having more time to sit and share with the children, listen to them, and help them overcome the difficulties and trails that they are facing. I have been working a lot with the younger children recently, and we have been making a bit of headway with different ones..but whenever God starts doing a work in their life, we face more problems and more trails. Please keep us and them in their prayers!
Thank you for being a part of this, for partnering with us...without your prayers and support we would never be able to do any of this!! You are a part of this blessing and these changes!!
THANK YOU!
