Suicide

So, this afternoon I had a short talk with the older children from Casa de Fe about suicide. It was a sad time, as the reason it was brought up was a young man, a fellow student of two of the girls here, had hung himself in the bathroom of his house the day before. Along with the psychologist that they have on staff we talked a little about how the problems that we face in our lives are meant to strengthen us and help us move on, as well as how to overcome our problems rather than trying to escape from them.

As these young children are growing up, they face many challenges in life, even more than the normal teenager, because of their backgrounds and their troubled or non-existent relationships with their families. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we minister to these young children and seek to instill hope and courage to face every day, while they learn how to walk hand in hind with their Savior.
