San Jose de Palora
Last week, after Karin, I spent three days helping the same team with their ministry in a community called San Jose de Palora. We have done a bit of ministry in Palora and in the communities on the other side, but never in the communities on this side of the town, even though I do know the pastor that is their from seminary.
The focus of the team was building a still structure frame and putting on a zinc roof for the new church building that is being built. We also did some evangelism and vbs with the children in the afternoon. I was mostly helping with translation, and with the vbs.
It was a great time to minister, and a cool experience being there and working with them, even though a bit tiring. I traveled back and forth every evening, so I would leave home at 6:30 in order to get there a bit after 9 o'clock, and would catch the bus that passed by at 6:30pm and arrive home after 8pm. It made for some very long days, but a lot was accomplished!
Monday and Tuesday morning we did some painting, and Tuesday afternoon we did VBS. Right before we started, they asked me if I would do some puppets in Spanish, and so we did some improv and had a great time with the kids! Afterwards, we played some games and gave out prizes. Wednesday morning we did some door to door visitation and evangelism, as well as attending a couple of peoples medical needs. In the afternoon we did VBS again, and I did some kids worship songs and puppets again, as well as translating for the team in their games and stories. It was truly a blast!!!
