Assisting with books for the underprivileged.

This past week we were able to assist some friends of ours and their organization that came down and were making books for one of the local schools. Emaus is a bilingual school, that teaches the children Quechua, as well as Spanish, and therefore do not have the governments assistance in providing these books. It is also a christian school, and many of the students are indigenous from Shell and the surrounding communities.

SALTS has been assisting this school in coming down a week out of each year and hand printing, coating and binding the books made by the teachers themselves, for the last ten years or more. We were privileged to be a part of making this all happen, by helping with the translation and coordinating, as well as doing some of the hands on work!

God has also opened the doors here to do some teaching in the school, being that it is a christian one, as well as training and supporting the two churches involved there in their children ministries. God is good!
